Homeschooling for Preschool Parents
THE HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) program is an evidence-based initiative that supports mothers in their role as their child’s first and best educator. HIPPY strengthens families and communities by empowering mothers to actively prepare their children for success in school and life.
Through a home-based support service, mothers receive individualized support and instruction based on a curriculum that develops skills in reading, science, mathematics, vocabulary, and motor skills. HIPPY curriculum activities also foster creativity, as well as social, emotional, and cognitive abilities.
HIPPY helps parents to:
Surmount linguistic and cultural barriers.
Improve understanding of available community services.
Actively participate in school and community life.
