Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters

HIPPY

HIPPY strengthens families and communities by empowering mothers to actively prepare their children for success in school and life.

Refugee and immigrant families in the program receive information aimed at minimizing language and cultural barriers, enhancing knowledge of community services, raising awareness of Canadian norms, and encouraging newcomers to actively participate in school and community life.

Integrating youth to high school

Franc Succès

The Franc Succès program offers newly arrived youth from grades 7 to 12 in Canada a series of recreational and cultural activities designed to help them smoothly adapt to Canadian culture.

The program, held in certain secondary schools in Ottawa, provides a range of activities to support youth integration:

Workshops on various topics

Volunteer and community involvement opportunities

Training in employment-related skills

Special activities

Building a social network

Access to resources

*The Franc Succès program is available in French-language secondary schools in Ottawa.

Integration of newcomer students

Settlement workers
in Francophone schools

The Settlement Workers in Schools Program aims to facilitate the integration of newly arrived students in Canada into their school community and new neighborhood.

Settlement workers are currently located in over a 100 francophone schools across Ottawa, Kingston, Prescott-Russell, and Cornwall.

The responsibilities of the settlement workers include:
